Incredible experience all around, from the atmosphere to the service and food! We chose the lebanese feast family style dining, and we were beyond words! Starting with the spreads and bread then to the couscous, chicken, haloumi cheese, aspargus and finishing it off with the ribeye and branzino, everything was amazing! But the ribeye... the ribeye had me almost in tears with how good it was. The whole experience invites everyone at the table to share and try different combinations and be social and simply enjoy the time they are there. It was a fantastic experience!

Got the tasting menu which was a good value - $75. The food was good but not as unique as I thought it would be. Highlights - rib eye, chicken app, and red pepper dip. Got the Baia amber wine which was amazing Ambience - definitely sit inside it is very nice and the outside it subpar comparatively. Service - the service was average.

This was an amazing night from beautiful seat that the staff sat us at too the amazing food. It was the perfect night for us and was so memorable for both. Made us feel so special at one of our favorite restaurants in town. For drinks we go the dead sea and fairouz. Both mezcal based cocktails was very good and well balanced. Dead sea is the smokier of the two snd fairouz was sweeter but still balanced. For food we started with the walnut casik and beet borani. Both were very good walnut casik was very rich and had nice texture from the nuts. Very well balanced. Next we got harissa, lamb shish kebab, and swordfish belly. Harissa was nice and spicy and was great add to the meal to place on everything. It has a smoky hot pepper taste great add to kebabs and other items. Lamb was nice and tender, well seasoned. Has a nice taste and melts in your mouth. Swordfish is nice and flaky super tender. Has a great punchy lemon flavor along with the spicy aleppo chili flakes. Next we selected roasted carrots and charred zucchini. Both paired well with the other items. The carrots had great flavor and was paired well with harissa. It is paired will with lemon juice to cut through the savory flavor and heat to balance it out. Charred zucchini is another well balanced dish. Has hazelnuts for added texture. The tahni adds richness with the aleppo chili flakes and honey both but through the richness adding heat and sweetness. Finally, we ordered Grilled branzino. Is so tender and rich. Is well seasoned with savory flavors cut by oranges. Overall, the food was perfect and the service was fantastic. We felt so special and it made for a perfect night.

Maydab, the elusive Moroccan/Lebanese gem, recently collaborated with renowned LA chef Bresia Lopez, creating an unforgettable dining experience. Despite its reputation for being nearly impossible to snag a reservation, the culinary journey at Maydan was well worth the effort. The fusion of Maydan's traditional tastes and flavors with Chef Lopez's innovative twist resulted in a culinary masterpiece. Service at Maydan was impeccable, despite the bustling atmosphere. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to guide diners through the menu, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience. By the end of the meal, we left Maydan feeling so full! If you ever have the chance to secure a reservation at Maydan, don't hesitate--it's an experience not to be missed. I would try this restaurant on its own next time!

An amazing dinner! We were a party of 4 and had a great experience at Maydan. We went with the Tawle menu which was 3 courses and dessert at the end. The first round was all the spreads. Hummus, walnut casik, muhammara, halloumi, and assorted pickled vegetables. All the spreads were delicious, the walnut casik was my favorite. The next course came with saffron couscous, fennel and red watercress salad, roasted carrots and chicken shish taouk. For the center plates we chose the lamb shoulder and grilled branzino. The lamb was tender and well seasoned and the fish was cooked perfectly. Dessert was an almond flour cake soaked in rose syrup and a meringue. I also ordered the chacha slide cocktail which was gin based and really good. Overall it was a good meal and we had a lot of leftovers after. Of course being a Michelin star restaurant it's on the pricey side. We sat in their covered outdoor seating which wasn't the best ambiance, but there weren't any tables available inside. Regardless, the service was great and our waiter was really friendly and checking in on us regularly.

Before I get into what an incredible meal and dining experience, my two cons. One, I booked this meal maybe 3 weeks prior to going and the Tawle experience was listed at $75. When we got there we were told it was $85. I didn't bring it up cause I wanted a nice evening of no fuss. Not sure if there was a miscommunication or they increased their menu by $10 (almost 15%) in that time span. The other con is their 8% gratuity charge. The description for it on their menu is vague and gratuity charges are rarely done right. A required gratuity charge to make up for management's failure to pay their staff a living wage should not be something customers are responsible for. What an INCREDIBLE dining experience!!! Maydan has been on my list for a while and I got their cookbook about a month ago and have been trying their stuff out at home, but nothing could've prepared me for how deliciously filling it was. While a little difficult to the find, discovering their huge, beautiful door tucked into an ally made me feel like I was in on DC's best secret and when you open the door, you're teleported into another word of incredible music and colorful tapestries. We sat inside and I think this is a must! The space is bustling and at the center of their room is a huge huge fire they use to cook their meals, namely, their pita. We sat upstairs. Our staff was so sweet and professional and knowledgeable. They acknowledged our request for vegetarian food from our reservation. We also mentioned it was our anniversary in our reservation, so they brought us a class of non-alcoholic champagne to top of the dinner at the end. The best part was, because we didn't order any alc beverages, he didnt even ask he just assumed we werent drinking felt so personal and thoughtful. Now onto the food. I don't even know where to be begin. Get the Tawle menu so you can everything. The first course is mainly their dips and peeta every single one was perfect and unique. My favorite was the red pepper dip. The halloumi ugh the halloumi was INCREDIBLE i wish we got more. It was warm and sweet and nutty. The picked veggies and the dates were also memorable. By this point I was already at like 85% full! Next was the main dish and we went with the cauliflower and it was so flavorful! It was very spicy and very large. The colors were amazing and I loved every bite of it!! Finally, we got another mix of bowls and selections from their menu which included their carrots, watercress salad, chicken kababs and couscous. The chicken kababs were my favorite thing on the entire menu and despite being almost over full at this point, I ate them all alone, for my partner is a vegetarian and also, I probably wouldn't have shared anyways haha. The salad was also an incredible addition at this point where I was so full and it was very comforting. The couscous is how fall, the season, tastes to a tea. Finally, we got a choice between two desserts and we went with the pomegranate one! It was soft and airy and creamy and the perfect pic for the end of a meal filled with heavy, strong flavors. Noticeably full, the staff boxed up all our leftovers to bring home. The check comes in a book, which as a librarian and bookseller made with yelp with joy it was such a cute touch and people had written tons of notes and compliments to the restaurant all over the book, it was so sweet and fun! Highly recommend Maydan. I'm already looking forward to going back!

My husband and I tried Maydan for the first time for Valentine's Day and I cannot wait to go back. Upon entering we were greeted by two friendly hostesses and seated promptly. We had the Valentine's Day menu food and wine pairing. Everything was 5/5 from food to service and staff just perfect! However the highlight of my night was the ribeye steak with green peppercorn sauce (I dream of this!) and the labne pavlova with strawberry and rhubarb coulis such a perfect pairing. Restaurant was dimly lit, clean and perfectly decorated. it was amazing to see the meats being prepared on the open fire. We will be returning to Maydan for sure! I've told alllll my friends about my experience.
